We don't have the technology to solve this yet. There's just a physical limit to how small and fast we can make math particles these days.

In many programming languages ÷ means modullus but in that case, the assignment symbol = is in wrong position

In programming languages I’ve worked with, the % is the mod operator.

BODMAS/BOMDAS comes into play.( Don't know the American acronym 🤷♂️) but simply
-6+2=-4
8-4=4
5(4)=20
20÷20=1
or
8-6=2
2+2=4
5(4)=20
20÷20=1

20/5(8-6+2)
P,AS (8-6+2) = +8 + -6 + +2 = 4
MD 20 ÷ 5 * 4 = 20 / (5*4) = 1
ISO 80000-2 says don't use ÷ unless you mean it.

"MD" means multiplication OR division, from left to right. Not multiplications first, then divisions. 20 / 5 is 4, times 4 is 16.

AS and MD are done left to right whichever comes first. The answer is 16.

Not this BS again. Just rewrite it with 20 as the numerator and the parenthetical term as the denominator. Ambiguity gone.
