ringing bells and mostly doing nothing. The borderfence is still not finished. We started it in the middle of 2010s.
There are no public bombshelters and the overall civilian protection infra is nonexistent.

At least Poland doesn't fuck around and is arming itself to the teeth right now. I think in relative terms they are spending more than US on defense right now. Here the Conservatives always had a strict and consistent policy on russian threat, however every election the ruling coalition changes...

Sadly even Poland has a lot of to do. It sent a huge share of its heavy weaponry to Ukraine (c. 40% of mid-ranged AA, tanks, artillery, IFVs and c. 20% of fighter planes), which means it has to train a lot of soldiers including reserves. Its air forces will have to rely for c. 2 years on allies.

I suspect that they will try to stay in Belarus or other Russian-speaking countries if they fail to get to Europe after the Russia collapse. As far as I know, most of this gray mass does not really like to learn other languages.

This is also true. There is a possibility that some will still decide to learn the language. Plus, in the refugee anxiety, there is another refugee problem that is happening right now. Spies. 20-30 year olds might learn the language, especially those who want to have professional careers, doubt that is the case with manual laborers. Speaking from post soviet experience, they usually malignantly refuse to learn the language and expect that everyone speaks theirs, while in reality...
