So their Justice dept can decide not to pursue criminal penalties. But ordinary citizens can pursue the civil penalties and win. We just need a class action suit. $1K per citizen whose info was released is a lot of money.

This could be a good class action lawsuit. Taxpayers have a right to remedy whether the disclosure is by a gov't employee (in which case they sue the gov't) or by a 3rd party/contractor (in which case they sue the 3rd party). Whatever DOGE and its people are, they're exposed to penalties either way.
