While I would hope this is overkill, I told my parents to cancel an international vacation because we’re starting to see anyone critical of Trump being refused entry. We’re just reaching the 2 months mark, so by the time they came back it could actually effect actual born and raised white Americans
This is a definite concern. I have a trip planned to an island country at the end of the year and while I’ve never been scared to leave this country, the idea that I may not be allowed back in without any warning is making me rethink my plans and I hate that!
The (good?) news is, if this happens it’s probably going to be much sooner. Like my folks were supposed to leave tomorrow for a few weeks and I begged with them to cancel because things are moving so quickly.. Thankfully another event happened that made them have to
Well there’s a rumor he’s going to use Hitler’s birthday to invoke martial law citing the judicial system’s “failing” to protect the country. But I could def see that coming with “are you loyal to president trump” questioning to anyone, American or not, trying to come here.
I never thought in my lifetime I’d see a time when international travel TO the United States would be so unsafe. Don’t visit the US, international friends.
If I were in FIFA or the IOC, a hard reassessment would be needed ASAP on the viability of US co-hosting the 2026 World Cup and, further down the road, the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles.
Can’t argue that point. Hehe. I think it’s more whether Canada & Mexico would want to co-host and/or the participating national teams being comfortable sending their premier athletes to a country that may not let them enter or leave.
Sooo many Red states tourism dollars. Beaches in Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina, Alabama. New Orleans, Virginia’s Williamsburg, Jamestown historic area, Charleston, SC. NYC will take a big hit, too.
I'm French; I know a bunch of people, me including, who stopped looking to book a trip to Orlando, because it feels too unsafe to travel to the US right now.
Super scary. I usually go to the USA about 4x per year to visit friends and/or see your amazing cities for a long weekend. I am too afraid to go there now.
My dad and his wife are currently in the air returning from Europe. She’s a green card holder (Western European) and a retired university professor (so, you know, “woke”). I can’t decide if the CBP or FAA makes me more nervous.
So why is The Guardian, an English newspaper the one to publish these stories? Do we now have to rely on the English press because American journalists are too afraid to publish the truth?🇨🇦🇬🇧🇨🇦🇬🇧🇨🇦🇬🇧
I’m attending a furniture market next month in NC. The attendees and vendors (75,000+) are international. I’m curious (and a little afraid) to see how many people outside of the US avoid it.

This feels totally great and not at all like dying.
You have lots of reasons not to come here.
As you're French, Quebec may be a good middle ground if you want to cross the Pond.
Better yet, use a burner.
I think most have fervently come out in opposition of that disgusting display of authoritarianism.
…and I know that they don’t.
She was about to release a piece on Palestine.
Buckle up, only the rich & fascist loyalist$ will be able to flee, when we're invaded in this war, they're manufacturing.
