Tbf AI has been translating things for a long time and is one of the very few things it is actually good at without hallucinating and while not posing as many ethical issues with copyright etc. Doesn't even require as much energy as other uses of AI. Theoretically can be done without cloud services.

Yeah, my mother owns a business with multi-lingual employee base but doesn't speak Spanish. So she uses AI to translate notes and annoucements to Spanish then hands it off to a bilingual manager for proofreading.

It's better than having to constantly bug said manager to write shit out for her.
