You can use it for US flights, and for a few international crossings (Canada, Mexico, Caribbean, Bermuda).

I don't have RealID so I'm glad I got it.

if I recall, it was included in the price of the passport renewal… maybe it was a bit extra, but not significantly more. A few years ago when they offered it, I agreed because “why not” as it just seemed like a good idea, 🤓😃🤷🏼‍♀️

Damn I didn't know that. I keep it w/ my credit cards so that's just additional pain if I lose them.

After the election I renewed my lapsed passport and added a card for the "papers please" I knew was coming.

Getting a new card is $65 but adding it to a passport order is $30, btw.

You have to report it as lost. You then have to apply for a replacement in person, including the loss/theft statement.

While not a horrible situation if you lose the card, you’ll find yourself filling out extra paperwork and having to present yourself in person.

I need one and thought I had the original of my CRBA. I had a fit when I couldn't find it with my passport so I did the paperwork in November to get it. Most of you won't have to have somebody go to the National Archives to get yours, like I did since it was in 1957. Got it the other month. PHEW. 2/

Do you know how much it costs? $160 for a passport. Multiple forms of ID and you go in person. 47 is forcing people to get a passport for voter suppression.
Work with local and state election officials to protect voting access for all citizens.

If you already have a passport, that’s ok - “If you already have a passport book and you are eligible to use Form DS-82, you may apply for a passport card by mail as a ‘renewal’ even if it is your first passport card.”

If you worry about carrying it around, take photos of the front *and the back* of the card. Email them to yourself if you don't want them in your photos. (Make sure the subject line is something easy to search.)
