It's a second noted law of novel-writing that the thing that's filling your head with a crackling energy of ideas and enthusiasm will NOT be the thing you're currently working on.

I do usually find this to be true, but recently I've entered some sort of nirvana state where all the great energy and ideas I'm having are for the thing I'm working on.

I know I'm very lucky. I just need to find the time to capitalize on this boon.

Like, I looked up the Russian "Humanzee" experiments for a line or two then realized I could do a whole story on them. Jotted down ideas that maybe I could do it as a spinoff or prequel to what I'm working on. @charlesbarouch.bsky.social
