If someone doesn't know who I am, why on earth would I expect them to spend an hour or two of their precious time to finding out?
Reading a few hundred words of self-intro isn't going to tell them all about me, but it at least shows I am actually interested in those who want to know.

Not saying you are wrong, I just feel like my feed is mostly people reintroducing themselves.
Or rather, I have no idea who I really am *to others*
People who only know me for certain articles, or for particular interactions, may have an entirely different (but equally valid) idea of 'me' to someone who knows me for other articles or interactions...
I've had people refer to me as a 'legend' and genuinely seem to mean it, and I kinda inwardly blush, get all British, and think "But I'm just some bloke who talks about his hobbies and interests too much".
