So many of Trump's executive orders are just straightforwardly illegal. Not gray area, "it's debatable" type stuff — contradiction of black letter statutory and constitutional text

That's the point of it. The idea is to completely destroy the constitutional and social order and replace it with a white, straight, male only type of Christian (whatever their idea of it may be) monarchy. Nuke and repave.
Canadian here. Do Americans recognize this as a real opportunity for concerted, principled, potentially highly visible opposition, based on an adherence to the rule of law? All federal employees have to do is their job and follow the letter of the law.
Or maybe I'm being hopelessly naive?
Hard to tell from the outside but what it aounds like - or maybe what Trump controlled media makes it sound like - many Americans are unhappy with status quo and WANT total disruption and therefore let him do.
just because the supreme court said he can't be held responsible for anything illegal he does, doesn't mean he can't be sued and stopped at every turn either... wake up america and push back - fucking HARD!!
This is Shock & Awe to overwhelm us to make resisting harder. Staying focused is going to be difficult. This is a deliberate campaign to reduce resistance. Don’t for 1 minute think any of this wasn’t well planned. It took Hitler only 53 days to dismantle Germany’s democracy. Reichstag Fire?
Who is supplying the resources with which the enforcers are enforcing them?
If the enforcers are not doing their job, how may they be made to do it? Who will enforce the consequences that ought to result from not enforcing the law?
could easily be that they know this and figure throwing so much spaghetti at the wall means that not all of these orders will get the attention/fight they deserve, so they'll still get some of these illegal things through
I think he is trying to find out what congress will stop and what they won't. Even then, he is challenging the left to take it to the courts, and some will get to the supreme court.
It is called shotgun tactics. You don't need aim, and some might hit the target.

The flip side for the powerless is that everything is illegal *unless* you can hold those with authority accountable.

Even if ruled unconstitutional, SCOTUS has no way of enforcing their rulings.
And they gave him total immunity for his actions in office.
Rules are not rules when they cannot be enforced.

Pushback by Dems in Congress, sympathetic (to liberty) state agencies, and lots of lawsuits must be the response to try and hold the line until ‘26.
- Not an action agenda.
- Not a plan for “equal and opposite”.
- No chart showing the destructive EOs and Democrat alternatives.
A fundraiser.
It’s disgusting really.
What's going on with the PARTY!?
Who is enforcing them right now?
