If I don't know you I'm probably going to block you. I like liberal politics, board games, D&D, scooters, ska, St. Louis City, and delicious food. I'm mainly here to follow friends I already know. I have no time for bigots of any stripe.

The new Advent-ure Calendars are already 60% funded. It must be nice to be so beloved by your community

Doomscrolling on Blue Sky is a million times more satisfying than Meta. There are no profit-driven algorithms turning rage into "engagement", so scam ads or paid content, and amazing blocking tools.

Whether ruling the local high school or running a powerful Yakuza family, I don't think your gang gets taken seriously in Japan until you get a dumb fat guy with short hair. Preferably blond. I have learned this from watching countless movies.

Why is the first Time Lord called Omega instead of Alpha? And what has David Tenant's Doctor been doing these last two seasons?

Signal boosting: If you like their style maybe you need to get a commissioned piece. Or maybe not. It never hurts to ask. I have their word that it is "none of that AI bullshit." That might not be a direct quote but it's definitely in the same spirit.

Anyone committing acts of violence against civilians to achieve political change is probably going to be the bad guy. That statement scales from individuals up to entire nations.

I don't understand Captain America 4. It is very slow and unexciting. I'm on my second watching but I have to do it in parts. The movie literally puts me to sleep. Where is War Machine? He's the Avenger traditionally at the President's side. Where is literally any other MCU cameo?

When I first read The Murderbot Diaries I thought he was on the spectrum but on my first re-read I realize it is all trauma shielding

Costco now has refrigerated ramen bowls, just add water and microwave for 4 minutes. It will never be as good as the real stuff but its better than instant and takes about the same time to make. It's a little more fresh and crisp than a really good canned soup would be. The veg was not mushy at all.

Crappy AI is drastically changing the work/reward ratio on doom scrolling YouTube. YouTube and BlueSky are my preferred social media but BlueSky has tools that keep the hit rate up.

My periodic rant that if Idiocracy were about a specific ethnic group then it would be indistinguishable from Nazi propaganda, but since it is about poor people in general then it is somehow acceptable. "They" are inferior but breed like rabbits. "They" will replace "us" and destroy what "we" built

Perfect watermelon recipe for summer: Take one watermelon cut into appropriate-sized pieces. Serve chilled.

Being a sitting member of the US Congress is now the most dangerous job in the US. US representatives are 20x more likely to die per year than even agricultural workers. Maybe it is time to weed out the older members after all. I'm going to repost this every time we lose another one

My problem with the Murderbot Diaries is that the first three are pretty self-contained and it took so long for book 4 that I lost the momentum. Now that I keep seeing ads for the series I've picked them up again and I remember how awesome they are

Since Republicans toe the party line and spread the same talking points, it doesn't really matter which one you iltalk to. Democrats still value a conscience and a soul over party loyalty. You will get very different responses from AOC, Buttigieg, Jeffries, or Schumer. This should be a feature.

Maya hieroglyphics were deciphered when someone realized the language itself was still being spoken but history killed off anyone who could actually read it. And for once it wasn't the Spanish.

A sitting US Congress member has literally a 20x increased chance of dying each year than an agricultural worker has of a workplace fatality and over 100x the rate of overall workplace fatalities. Maybe we do need to elect younger people
