If I don't know you I'm probably going to block you. I like liberal politics, board games, D&D, scooters, ska, St. Louis City, and delicious food. I'm mainly here to follow friends I already know. I have no time for bigots of any stripe.

I wish we pushed for Tina Turner instead. Chuck has some non-voluntary sexy stuff to his name and I'm all about the informed consent

Support who you want in the primaries, but can you support the winner of the primaries even if it isn't AOC? Harris / Biden / Hilary weren't perfect but they wouldn't have given us any of this. Every purist who kept their own hands clean shares part of the blame. I would vote for AOC if she won

That's pretty cool, actually.

She was buried with full military honors, and she petitioned Congress to get a military pension in her own name. I'm pretty sure she was proud of her service. I will respectfully continue to post variations of this theme because who we choose to honor shapes what kind of nation we build

When we don't include marginalized people they stay marginalized forever and we get shit like the James Webb Space Telescope named after guy who shielded Nazis while persecuting gays. I know, not a warship. But Jesus. Give me a USS Miller over that shit any day

There is the America we actually are and the America we should be; the country defined by our actions and the country defined by our ideals. I recognize the first but want to make us into the second. Recognizing American heros like Harriet Tubman is a small step in that direction.

Because slavery was (is) evil and she was too much of a bad-ass hero to be satisfied with just her own freedom. She was going to drag as many out of chains as she could at the risk of her own life.

Harriet Tubman led Union troops on a raid into Confederate territory and freed 150 people bound in slavery. She was a bad-ass war hero. I'd be proud to see her name on a war ship

Talk me into or out of it, please. And offer advice so it doesn't spiral out of control.

So I might go back to the evil, racist, transphobic Facebook in order to interact with the people I care about.

Discord is too broken up by social groups or topics; if you have a wide range of friends or many interests you need to jump back and forth to each channel. I am not a fan.

However it falls well short of Meta when it comes to actual engagement with actual friends. I feel like I'm just shouting into the void instead of actually talking to anyone.

Japan isn't known for having a lot of dumb fat criminals the way America has. I think that's why they are such a prize. It's a seller's market

The aliens were trying to remind human contract laborers about home because we tend to copy whatever world we live on. Some of us were getting creepy with alien worship.

One of my sci-fi series I'm reading has aliens doing faithful hand reproductions of artwork from the Great Masters. It was worth more if it had a creation video documenting the reproduction including a unique matching flaw. Looting cultural treasures is against the law, doncha know.

Holding all Israelis responsible for the actions of their government is as American as holding all Americans responsible for the actions of our own government. It's strictly citizenship and does not carry over to all Jewish people. Nothing gives anyone the right to target civilians on either side.

Are these from the collective or AI? I'll gladly spread the word if it isn't AI.

I honestly wish they would switch the months so that we could say "just wait" instead of "you missed it".

Why waste Red Hulk? He is introduced in Act 4 and neutralized by Act 5. In fact, who even is the bad guy and what is their plot? Scrotum-head is a side-quest, at best. I'm a big Sam Wilson fan. He's a better Captain America than Steve. I was expecting so much.

Weiner dogs, right? Say "happy birthday" to my birthday buddies. Mine is Sunday. I'll be 378 in dog years.

Do you know how much I adore, and count on, having friends who drop terms like "Lamarckian inheritance" and expect me to keep up? And to a lesser extent how much I adore, and rely on, having the Internet in my pocket 24/7?

My theory is that "illegal immigration is out of control" became conventional wisdom divorced from any fact and that it has actually been manageable for some time. Their problem has always been the color of people's skin not their legal status. Non-white people are illegal immigrants by default.

Authoritarianism is "law and order" that doesn't care about justice.

Divide by three to get 15 is 10%, then multiply by 10 to get 150 is 100%

Now I'm wondering what it would be like if all the Borg got ADHD and possible undiagnosed ASD? As the eye doctor says: Better? Or worse?

That works great for those fancy gourmet cupcakes with tons of frosting, but I always forget to do it. Clearly I need more cupcakes in my life.

They may still have to pay him, but if they don't have someone on a minor league team that can replace him tomorrow then someone failed at their job.
