there was a follow up survey where half the "nothing at all" group reported using youtube, facebook in last week, which makes me doubt they receive no political content at all. both of those platforms are centerstage for politics

Folks on the right don't "Follow the news" closely maybe, but they aren't "disconnected from politics" the way this is implied. Quite the opposite: even "Normal" folks on the right are completely awash with politics and right-wing media/narrative/framing is interwoven with everything in daily life.
