That our primate brains evolved to swing in trees and survive on a small, finite world can understand even a small part of all this is simply amazing in itself.
NASA called Hubble the "most significant advance in astronomy since Galileo's telescope." Hubble has given us better views of our solar system and taken us hundreds of light years away to the edge of the universe.
If I look hard enough, I can see a bird with its beak open. Paradolia sure is a strange and beautiful thing at the same time. Thanks for sharing such a breathtaking image.
All those stars, not to mention all the galaxies FULL of stars... There's life out there somewhere. I wonder what their pets are like? 🤔 What would they make of ours? That's one of the many things I sit and talk to with my 11 yo son about. I think it's great to imagine. Thanks for the upload 👍👍
In fairness, it's only one structure of the anatomy and missing a lot of the surrounding others, but ...uh... it starts with "cl" and rhymes with "hit-or-miss" 😂
Is this for real, emission from black hole?
My theory is that everything is getting sucked in, but blue light takes longer to get sucked in as compared to the red and other colors so we see blue as major color.
Ah yes the APOD https://apod.nasa.gov/apod/
Every day another work.. Sometimes the work of man. Usually the work of the greatest artist in the universe. Been following that page daily for a lot of years.
from JWST? what astronomical object(s)? Please I'm sorry I know this is annoying but please include basic info and attributions, I can't learn real good without it
Taken by Euclid?!? Look, I'm American, and even I know Euclid was a MATHEMATICIAN, not a physicist, from circa 300 BC, before color photographs were around yet.
(thank you)
almost stuck with a new misspelling I've never made before: MAYHEMATICIAN
The European Space Agency found his tomb, resurrected him in 2023, put him on a rocket and sent him to L2 to carry out a large-scale survey of the Universe. They say it's just a robotic space telescope, but we all know the terrible truth.
it's wild because I missed the alt text this time (still settling in here) and was somehow spared a brutal skewering by the fates, since yes, I was looking for "Euclid" and "M87".

1 Space picture of ████
I see cats, everything is full of cats
😆
My avatar is a pig wearing cow slippers (Moo shoe pork). 😅
New trend?
Does anyone else see it? 😅
Hmm. Turn the picture about ...30° counter-clockwise?
But I'm getting old & my eyes! 🤭
yes definitely one of the pics.
Not to be a perv but a woman must have discovered it, because for some reason most men can't. 🤷 🤣😂😂
But one time I saw this other space pic? Yeah I don’t mean to start an argument but it was also one of the space pics of all time.

A shaggy dog.

I say that about any space pic. 😄
