conceivable that NWS does but broader NOAA does not. I'd be shocked if all of NOAA is spared. Won't change the massive staff shortage issues already at WFOs, especially given there's a hiring freeze until god knows when. But better than nothing? Yeah I guess the bar is at the core of the Earth.

Yeah I mean with the anti-climate stuff, it seems impossible all of NOAA gets spared.

Thing is... is there any logic to any of it? I've speculated a bunch and then end up with, well literally no one actually knows. Is anyone even listening when programs/agencies are advocated for (internally)?

It's hard to tell where the cuts are going to end. They are just slashing departments everywhere looking for change in the couch cushions

The cruel irony of making cuts for "unqualified DEI" reasons by a bunch of unqualified cronies. Although I'm not sure what the rational for cutting the weather service is other than they want to snuff any talk about climate change? It's hard to keep up...
