I was thinking similarly. Every day, we're forced to live with a ridiculously high margin of "acceptable risk." Going out? Accept that you may be shot. Going to work/school? Accept you may get sick from others who won't vax. Buying groceries? Accept you may buy something contaminated. It's too much.

In my video about this I made the case that knowing there’s a 3% chance an asteroid will hit us is amazing news because at any other point in history we would have no idea at all.
But it also sucks: modern life is too full of things to worry about that, previously, we just wouldn’t know existed.
