I bought a mini washer since my landlords have decided to install coin washer/dryers in the building. I can't avoid using the dryer, but I van budget that. The mini washer means teeny tiny loads and I'll probably end up using the coin washer for towels but...

I was thinking similarly. Every day, we're forced to live with a ridiculously high margin of "acceptable risk." Going out? Accept that you may be shot. Going to work/school? Accept you may get sick from others who won't vax. Buying groceries? Accept you may buy something contaminated. It's too much.

It's a small thing but today the washing machine in my building leaked motor oil all over a new white blanket, obviously ruining it. I tell my landlord and ask for compensation, only for her to tell me that the washing machine isn't intended for throw blankets and that I should go to a laundry mat.
