The idea that Mexicans are foreign to CALIFORNIA of all places is nothing but a white supremacist fantasy fueled by historical, cultural and political illiteracy. Maybe read some fucking books that were not written by eugenicists.

Yes! Exactly!! I mean, if generations of Californian 4th graders can grasp that, then it shouldn’t be so hard for whole ass adults…but I guess that would be a big ask for those willfully ignorant, hateful asshats.
thanks for the nostalgic flashback to 4th-grade Cali history lessons and field trips to the missions, learning about the Spanish Franciscan priests between 1769 and 1833 to evangelize native indigenous peoples and expand Spanish influence in the region. https://www.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=22722
Yessss! Same! Did you also have to build a mission out of sugar cubes lol? But seriously, the ignorance of that stance is astonishing…I mean, there’s a reason so many place names in CA are Spanish in origin, and that’s really just the surface of how intertwined our histories are.
Not sugar cubes, a cardboard box, with one end badly carved into the facade of the mission in Carmel, and covered in the plasterized strips of gauze used for casts! 😳😄
Haha nice!! I used bondo on mine with the sugar cubes, it was a very solid mission 🤣. I’m from Monterey so lots of terrible Carmel mission builds are burned into my memory 😂
