Thatβs a poor squad. Only a handful of players who are good enough at a the top level. Fair play to Tuchel if he can get these guys competing for trophies.
There's quite a few players there with no form and recent injuries. Also a real lack of experience at centre back. Should be enough to get through these fixtures though
One thing I never understand is when they pick their first squads and don't do something daring like bring along a load of younger exciting players. A manager will never have more opportunities to make big daring changes than at the start and he goes with players like walker and henderson
π€£ be seriousβ¦ Ethan never had a chance of getting a call up in the first squad under new management. Heβs 17 and has no experience in any respectable non senior international level
He has more experience in respectable competitions than the likes of Mainoo and Wharton had when they were called up tbf, but the plan with Nwaneri apparently was always to move him up to gain experience at under 21 level first
Yeah England are well stocked there, and thereβs no need to rush Nwaneri. Heβll be a lynchpin in the England side for the next decade so let him gain experience with the 21s where heβs still playing well above where he should be for his age
True......but Kyle Walker? Jordan Henderson? Burns? All past it......even Reece James i'd say is really such a odd choice.......Gibbs-White has been amazing and not picked? Djed Spence has been good? Why not them?
I feel like everyone is overreacting to this, the only starters available here are Kane, Rice, and Pickford. Senior experience picked as Tuchel feels his way through the squad, same thing he did at Chelsea heβs just not gonna experiment or complicate things early doors. Heβs just setting a baseline
To a degree but all three are over 30. Two play abroad, one in the dutch league [is Henderson the 1st english player to come from dutch league?] Burns never played. I think these two teams allowed a chance to Experiment more with youth. Plus, and i'll admit it i'm not a fan of these 3 players
Yeah thatβs fair. But I think bar Foden all these players are pretty straight forward in their respective skill set and positions. Theyβre plug and plays. And look, if you look at Henderson as a player coach at this point his inclusion is easier to swallow
It's just weird? Bunch of players selected on past achievements (Rashford, Walker, Henderson, Foden, James), then 3 promotions based on very little (Quansah, Lewis-Skelly, Trafford), then there's Dan Burn.
Whatever they do for the team, what message does the selection of these 2 send to aspiring players? Henderson-past his best, playing in the 5th best league in Europe. Rashford-done nothing for 2 years, sulked till he got a move, 7 starts all season

Let's bring in the youth of Henderson, Walker and Burn.

And probably their 2nd and 3rd best players as well.

Do me a favour.
In my opinion, they have good quality players that can perform at that kind of international level.
