It would have been great to have an entire campaign on the benefits of bump outs to inform a selfish culture, ready to go on launch day. And thatβs the information you provide when people call in to complain. Added benefits: positive social impact + less $ than ripping up infrastructure. π
Has anyone crashed into one of the bumpouts, though? The claim is that "they're unsafe" but nowhere in the article or video does it mention anyone actually hitting one. And was there a study done to see if drivers slowed down after their installation?
I believe that if drivers are damaging their cars on clearly marked bollards/barriers/whatever, that is a) a good thing, and b) a sign that, uh, we should have more of those.
Read down to the bottom sentence for the real reason. The same entity has the contract to install and to remove the bumps. Someone is making money to put them in, then more money to take them out
