i like that they clarified what genre of music they were talking about by posting a dude. not even a music sample or song name. you just know instinctively

I remember dudes dressed like that, but didn't know it was from a music genre. Didn't last very long. It's like that time in the 90s where swing came back for 2 weeks.
Nah there were differences but it all feels the same because of the sheer volume of songs that came out around that time that involved this aesthetic and this sound. We've boiled it down to what they all have in common because the sound oversaturated the radio.
all the prices are written on a chalkboard, the lights are oversized, dim lightbulbs, the walls are exposed brick and the ceiling has exposed, black painted vents. The employee WILL be wearing black gloves and they WILL offer a signature sauce
Because Vegas will make something like 'rustic minimal' to excess the places around here did these awful IPA or moonshine sauces that usually tasted like solvents
All the lights lack any shades so you get an instant headache when you walk in and it's way too hot inside. a diet coke costs five dollars plus 25 cents for "extra ice", whatever that's supposed to mean. You order a salad that costs the same as the GDP of Croatia and it comes "deconstructed"
You ask. 25 cents is per cube. Your credit card company has posted a featureless van outside the front of the bar as you have spent quite literally all their money
this shit was always playing on the radio on the way to school and on the way home while I cried and begged my parents not to take me back because I hated it there
Bon Iver was basically the foundation of that genre and he got so tired of it he retired and came back years later with what i can only describe as an electric folk album.
If you came of drinking age around the recession this shit followed you from your nightlife to stalking you all hours of the day and tried to become part of your family.
Did you get smashed on IPAs? Tried too many mason jar moonshine cocktails? Your hangover hell is now hearing this on all ads
What is amazing is that I saw the post, started to have this exact music in my head at the second I finished reading it, and here you are confirming ahahah
Most songs by The Lumineers, Mumford and Sons, and the like. The stuff you hear in an SUV commercial that's trying to sell the "good for large chaotic but loving families" thing
the funniest part was a bunch of established bands from waning 2000s pop rock genres trying to get on the bandwagon with albums that came out three years late and were embarrassing to everyone involved
It felt really nice at first! "We are all singing together, like we are part of a fun musical gathering, and...wait, why are so many of these guys into white nationalism? I need to take my brown ass out of here".
One of my favorite Beavis and Butthead riffs from a newer season is when they were watching a Cage the Elephant video & Beavis said "until the guy started singing I thought this was that JC Penny back to school ad"
I had almost gone maybe 8 years without thinking about that American Authors song but one look at Dude and those stompy clappy woohoos come flooding back with a vengeance. Curse you mandolin mustache men!
Yeah all the actual indie rock musicians were knocked out with a blunt instrument and sequestered by the government, and then the govt tried to tell us these dudes had always been indie rock. Scary times indeed. Thank goodness the victims were found
Funny, I always heard that lyric as "w/ me in my sleep, oh!" like he was so in love with her but he could only have her in his dreams. 'Sweet home' is such a corny lyric

Made a really bad Hallelujah cover.

I like this one
There was another but I think it's more country..
*most of it was still auto-tuned and overproduced, so it sounded like crap live
