I am a PROUD member of Costco and have been for many years. I am especially proud of Costco at this moment in time. I'm a 60 year old Veteran/Federal retiree. I have no F's left for the "right."
Hey, Target shareholders, your CEO is MAGA and lives in Florida. Maybe you should get yourselves someone better to head the company and that person should be required to live in Minnesota where it’s headquartered.
I wish large accounts would go after Walmart the way they are going after Target! Walmart is everything wrong in our country. I know I worked there briefly!
Until they do something massive for the communities they turned against they will not be getting my money, their morals and ethics have a price tag on them and that is not a type of society shift I can support. They should be made an example of
We live over an hour away from the closest Costco too. We drive there every 3 months or so and fill up our car with food and other quality items. For me it is worth the drive.
Shopping local/small business is always a great way to go! If you can afford to and have one available that carries what you need.
My Costco is over an hour away, too, and the only other option we have is Walmart, sadly. Yay for rural living 😖 We still do Costco once a month for what we can.
You don't need to be a member at Costco to use the Pharmacy. Also buy the basic membership to get the Visa with the rewards. I charge some recurring bills with no fees and get $$$ back every year in cash.
I can't do Costco without a car, but I've been going an extra half mile farther from home to go to TJ's instead of Target, and the only thing that might get me back to Whole Foods is my local store unionizing, because I want to support the union.
I work at Target. We are celebrating black history month and are still doing diversity programs and the store I work at is very diverse and inclusive . They may be complying but they are in no way not being inclusive or diverse . I wore my Black Lives Matter t shirt from Target today .
I’m glad to hear this but the thing is, Target could have said “we no longer need to say this, but these are our values so we will…we value all our employees and customers regardless of ….you make us great.” But they didn’t.
Yeah well words and actions matter and Target has made it clear on both that they don't value diversity and have joined the Nazi regime. Fuck Target and get a different job!
Alternative perspective: Corporations have a LOT of power. Target was/is ‘trendy, forward looking brand.’. To publicly eliminate, they are setting a standard and sending a message. DEI programs exist for a reason, and are rooted deeper than ‘equal hiring.’. Thoughts?
There’s nothing to “comply” with though. It’s not a directive it’s a suck-up move of gigantic proportions. And it was stupid AF. I’ve been a loyal customer for decades but no longer. I fear it will hurt good people like you, employees should speak up and out.
I tried to buy items advertised yesterday and the website said that many of the items were no longer available in the stores around me and it was not available for delivery.
I’m right there with you . I boycott many retail stores who cater to Trump ..I’ll never buy from Amazon again . My local NE Ohio Target is the most diverse store I’ve ever been in .. my 2 fav cashiers are transgender.. IMO Target wont be changing . They are only giving the appearance .
Remember: CEO's and Board of Directors - they wrongly go with the political current. With Trump, they fear expenses and perceived possible political backlash from the Turd administration. They are spineless CEOs. CEOs do NOT solely reflect the present inclusive employee culture of diversity.
Then Target needs to speak up. We don't want to shop at a store that is so cowardly and have insulted their consumers and employees this way. It's not personal to you. They don't change unless you force a change. As a black woman, we are tired of all the disrespect this country lays at our feet
I think it’s a calculated corporate decision to keep a loud minority group happy. I think it is a bad calculation. They should be prioritizing their employees and loyal customers. They will never win the price war. Principles matter. I think Costco sees the big picture.
The people including the Managers are really upset about this . They do have to comply but that isn’t changing the way they treat us . My store is as diverse as it gets and we all work together and care about each other .
I just said the same above but as a shopper.
I’m in Atlanta. The 3 stores in my shopping area are all diverse in employees and products. Don’t think that’ll change.
Yes I’m disappointed in their approach to dei, but a) I don’t think it’ll change and b) after maga’s boycott, I get it.
Agreed. Disabled people work at my target. They are under a lot of financial pressure and made a bad move. But still Minneapolis in their hearts I think.
Around here most of the managers are women . The team members are diverse - lots of women , black and brown people , LGBT and trans . The whole environment is diverse and inclusive .
This seems like a perfect example of actions speak louder than words, maybe? I’m disappointed with Target backing down like this, but I don’t see myself refusing to shop there. I will be more mindful with the brands I support.
It doesnt matter. They officially supported racism and fascism. Bothsidesism is a ploy to get what the want with no regard for morality It’s the same as saying, “there are fine people on both sides”- trump, 2017, about clan rally in VA. Heather Heyer was murderd at that rally by a white supramacist.
That’s good to know Rich and I appreciate your feedback. That said, abandoning their DEI initiatives at this point puts them on the wrong side of history. I’m selling my Target stock and I’ve cut up my Red Card. If they fix this, I’d come back, but I can’t in good conscience keep shopping with them.
Meaning, from your perspective, nothing has changed in Target’s staffing core structure or mission. This suggests Target’s DEI quit was simply to placate Trump Co. You’re a better ambassador for Target than any of their PR. I hope to see some messaging from corporate to give me reason to return.
I don’t know . What I guess I’m saying is that Target is a business that employees a ton of women , minorities and LGBT people at all levels . They aren’t getting rid of those people . White makes don’t want these jobs and are fully employed anyway. I don’t see any changes coming .
Target needs to make it plain! I have really liked shopping at Target but I’ve stopped recently because they seem to obviously be kissing the ass of felon47. I’m not about that life.
I just tell people Target supports minority businesses and the company has a 75 percent females in leadership positions . Not to mention employing tons of minorities , trans and LGBT . Any boycott hurts these people but people need to do what they think is right.
The Black/Queer/Female owners have actually asked people to target their buying at places like target, because unfortunately them being in those stores puts them in front of SO many customers. So I’ll be buying from Honey Pot, Shea Moisture, etc if I go into their stores, to help these businesses.
I wrote an email to Brian Cornell target CEO yesterday. His email address has disappeared, as have the addresses of all the other top executives. They know they screwed up, but I don’t think they really care. I will never go to target again.
My daughter works does VM at a Target & she said the same thing. They had a staff meeting, employees were upset, & were told nothing was changing in their store. It's a shame corporate is bowing down and sending such a discouraging message. It makes no sense. Now both sides are mad at them. 🤷
It's such terrible messaging when these companies aren't really changing. People don't know things aren't really changing. Do you think it has anything to do with employee safety? There were issues with MAGA threats inside their store before they changed the LGBTQ merchandise.
But Aldi never went as hard publicly as Target and therefore they didn’t get millions off us and they still have their diversity link up to employees. That’s diff to me. Target made so much off us
Find your Kroger's store, they have backed their DEI initiatives.
Kroger, Ralphs, Dillons, Smith's, King Soopers, Fry's, QFC, City Market, Owen's, Jay C, Pay Less, Baker's, Gerbes, Harris Teeter, Pick 'n Save, Metro Market, Mariano's
Except, what your forgetting is that in Targets press release, they literally said they would continue to be an inclusive company that represents the communities it serves.
This was AFTER Trump threatened investigations. Walmart and Amazon dropped DEI BEFORE Trumps executive action.
I hadn’t been a Costco member in decades, but I resigned on with Costco today. It was a great first visit : very cheerful staff, great food, fun personal items ( I bought 2 lovely clothes at a nice cost)
Seriously I also think 70%. of the day workers too were of hispanic and or haitian background .. Hillbillies down here in florida are extremely lazy ..
I worked overnight there after gained 60 pounds from retiring from UPS driving for 30 years and I unloaded trucks. It was me a fifty five year old italian girl from chicago and forty Hispanics from to mexico down to peru .. That's weird that they would just go for the hillbillies not mixed people
I haven't shopped at target since they hid all the most ridiculous items behind locked glass and were so understaffed while also squeezing the staff for their lives too tightly, that getting an item wasnt worth the hassle
It’s a good thing I don’t shop at Target or Walmart anymore. Also, I’ve never ordered from Amazon. I may be just one person, but every single person that stops adds up
Cancelled Walmart and Sam’s Club then renewed my Costco membership. The Costco employee said he was seeing a minimum of two new memberships over DEI for every hour of his shift and that was one employee at one Costco.
The photos from all over the US of the Buy-in over the weekend were impressive. I couldn't travel with a sick kid (and didn't want to be around other people as a potential carrier of Influenza A since that's what she has), and we'd already done our monthly Costco run, but I'd have loved to see it.
No buy small and black owned business products at Target. If you don’t sell well in Target you won’t make the volume Costco needs to sell your product.
Unsubscribed from my Target membership 2 weeks ago. Bought a Costco membership the same day. Target can kiss my DEI ass. Also mailed Target a card of condolence urging them to be kind to everyone . But yeah, fuck them 😊
Before they were all over, our family knew Target from the way they worked with my cousin who has a genetic abnormality and they were all wonderful to her and very inclusive and my kids have heard that constantly over the years but no more. This is disgusting that they caved in
I agree, it sucks they caved in this way. I also don’t want to lose an ally because of a bully, and be left with WalMart and Amazon. Costco is an hour away. I know the people at our Target.
Yeah, I don't, either, but I'd rather send all of these giant companies to hell by supporting smaller businesses-- even if it bankrupts me in the process
We have lots of thrift shops that get stuff. I need more stuff like a hole in the head but did some browsing at one last year bc is was "there", had time to waste and found a great infuser tea pot.
If an ally doesn't stand with you, what kind of an ally are they? If they fold like a paper bag because one asshole goes around knocking down pride merch, then another signs and executive order saying trans people don't exist, and they capitulate, even in "appearance only", is no ally.
Yes, support Costco. They are fighting like mother fuckers against Trump. I salute them. They are getting so much pressure, and they stand tall. Amazing, let's make it mean something!!!
Too bad I don't have one in my area and I'm not wasting gas to drive to where one is. I'll have to think of something else but NO MORE Target runs for me!!
Target corporate is based in Minneapolis, after their flip flop they got booted from the Twin Cities Pride Festival, after all their performative BS the last few years to sell pride march.

Already dropped them and I let them know exactly why I wouldn't be shopping there anymore. It's a good feeling to tell companies there's a price to pay for supporting fascism.
Just went to pick up my costco card. I was told i was the 35th person today at that store to say they joined because of DEI, and the 12th to tell them I'd quit Amazon and Target
Honestly, I'm not sure. They do have it,but likely not next day. My nearest Cistco is an hour away, so I'll be finding out. I just happened to be near one on a business trip
I got my 1st same-day Costco delivery on Saturday. Ordered on their website & it was delivered within 4hrs via Instacart. The prices were still very reasonable! Highly recommend that method.
I’d love to see all the white ladies of a certain age who care about DEI but tend to wonder around target on a random Sunday like zombies in the middle of the undead apocalypse stay the fuck home. Or better- spend your money at a local shop where they do support the values that you want to uphold.
I mean I am not mad at Costco :-) but also thankful that I have access to candles and journals and other things I don’t NEED (the Target special lol 💁🏻♀️) that I can purchase an locally owned shop!
I get what you're saying but also a lot of the locally owned stores are maga adjacent so I feel safer just supporting Costco. If they don't sell it I can do without.
It used to be. But they lost my business. I’ll just not shop anywhere for home goods or things like that. And aldi is a proud supporter of DEI so I know where to spend my money.
I live in a suburb outside of Minneapolis, where Target corporate is. Target has been an awesome place for our young to work, both without college in retail, and on the corporate side. I do not understand this move by them! Very disappointing.
I'm also near target corporate and have family members who work there. I'm used to doing target store pickups twice a week during my kids' sports classes.
Shop at *small business*. I have dropped Prime and I don't shop at Target or Wal-Mart anyway. Hoping to do very little business within any of these goofs this year if I can't help it.
The black majority of South Africa is giving the white minority a taste of their own medicine, and Elon is upset by this. Elon should move back to South Africa and take up this fight first hand, instead of using the US government and our tax dollars to punish his enemies in another country.
I've completely stopped shopping at Target, and I'm never going there again. Their sudden anti-DEI stance is just code to take my Black owned business somewhere else.
It was wild today driving restaurant row at lunch, 12 noon and the drive thrus at Wendy's and McDonalds totally empty. Normally there is line wrapped around their lots at this time of day.
That article failed to mention, Targets DEI initiative was supposed to be through December 2025. So yeah the boycotting started weeks ago, and Costco leadership said they've had an uptick in memberships! 🤑
agree in sentiment, and, I don’t shop very much at target, love Costco, but it’s just me in this household. I don’t have room to store stuff or eat everything I might buy before it goes bad.
So I had previously suggested Thrive Market in the aftermath of Target ending DEI.
Thrive Market carries the brand known as Lesser Evil. This founders of this company have a son named Edward Coristine. He is one of The children that stole our data.
District attorneys from 9 states led by TEXAS are trying to sue Costco for keeping DEI. Their shareholders voted to keep it with Costco. Costco is not a government entity. How do these aholes lead by TX think they can sue them?!?!?!?!
My entire family has stopped shopping at Target and quite honestly that store sucked. Cheap shit and nothing special about the place. Also sent a letter to Corporate telling them to fuck off.
The f’ing teamsters are putting pressure on Costco because they don’t like them honoring DEI practices. Let Costco know we support them supporting DEI!
Unfortunately it will not be possible for me to boycott Target, on account of them going going broke, packing up, and and leaving the country ten years ago. 😁 What on earth does anyone see in that place? https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Target_Canada
Already done. I had always shopped Target because I thought they represented my values in some ways. I deleted the app and will buy my weekly stuff elsewhere.
I dropped target a long time ago. I only shopped at Costco the world's best store quality food, quality stuff throughout the entire store. I never leave it so much fun Costco for president.
Before we pillory them let's wait to see how they are in practice. It's one thing to say that they're dropping DEI policy to appease an orange turd but it's another thing to actually change policy to appease that orange turd.
It IS the appeasement that IS the problem with Target and others. DEI = Civil Rights and not defending that is unAmerican. Target and other are COWARDS! With a Boycott we let them know what we think.
I sent an email to Target CEO yesterday and now there is no longer an active listing for his email address or any of the other top executives at target. They don’t care.
I live in rural Colorado. It’s an hour and a half for me to get to Costco, and it’s an hour for me to get to target. I will make the journey to spend my money where EVERYONE is valued.
I felt the same but my love for humanity is greater than shopping at a place where my brown body is not wanted anyway. I found my basic needs met at a small local community grocer, Trader Joes 30 miles from me. Also not shopping at Tractor Supply; found another farm feed store. And awful Walmart-no.
When the pendulum eventually swings back from the far-right to the left, will these companies that are so quick to ditch the DEI try to reintroduce them?
Get their rewards Visa, pay recurring bills that don't charge a fee. You get 4% back on any gasoline and 1% on everything else. You get a nice cash rebate.

Every damn bit of it.
Although, I DID recently upgrade my membership.
My Costco is over an hour away, too, and the only other option we have is Walmart, sadly. Yay for rural living 😖 We still do Costco once a month for what we can.
Doesn’t change the fact that the corporate entity that rules you is bowing down to Trump.
They deserve to lose it all.
Sorry.
Even if the stores remain inclusive, your customers are going to increase in abusive red hats
They ruined the TJs vibe since covid
I look forward to red hats boycotting Costco. Gonna be a lot nicer vibe
I’m in Atlanta. The 3 stores in my shopping area are all diverse in employees and products. Don’t think that’ll change.
Yes I’m disappointed in their approach to dei, but a) I don’t think it’ll change and b) after maga’s boycott, I get it.
The stores have kinda felt sus and Walmart-ey ever since.
To me, this indicates they likely stopped supporting their employees years ago.
My main question for anyone “boycotting” Target TODAY is “Why did you go back?”
Kroger, Ralphs, Dillons, Smith's, King Soopers, Fry's, QFC, City Market, Owen's, Jay C, Pay Less, Baker's, Gerbes, Harris Teeter, Pick 'n Save, Metro Market, Mariano's
This was AFTER Trump threatened investigations. Walmart and Amazon dropped DEI BEFORE Trumps executive action.
Now I'll be shopping at Aldi for groceries and Kohl's for clothing/toys.
Stick to Costco and your local grocery store if you have one
Target is the anti-WalMart and they’re not getting rid of DEI, just renaming it, like many other companies because they know $$.
I will continue shopping at Target and Costco
but not Walmart, Publix, Home Depot, Hobby Lobby etc.
Cancel them ALL!
You're in it, please REPOST to your page, I hope it helps!

up over 2.5%
Target stock today:
down over 2.5%
Hopefully, there are more days like this.
Costco up 2.06%
Target down .29%
But yeah, F target for that
Thrive Market carries the brand known as Lesser Evil. This founders of this company have a son named Edward Coristine. He is one of The children that stole our data.
