You have to manually give it feedback by blocking and selecting show less of this when it's something you don't want and liking and selecting show more when it's something you want more of
I remember on the other bird app i would follow countless cat accounts and pages, I wod like and retweet every cat post I could get but my tl still only showed one cat post in an hour. Bluesky algorithm is awesome I don't have to beg and plead for cat pics
It seems to be the default which I think is cool. They don't have an algorithm you have to tweek it yourself. By follow, repost and likes and feeds you join.
Bluesky allows you tailor your feeds to your interests. In fact you can have multiple feeds to suit your interests. If you’re getting tired of cats, try the “following” or “popular with friends” feeds. There are also subject-specific feeds like “science”.
I’m pretty sure it might be because of the interests you select when you first create you account ? I think maybe if you clicked pets as an interest it loads your home page with 5 kiloimages of cats (not that any one is complaining)
