As major public flagship and private universities fall like dominoes to the current regime, bolstered by billions in endowments but no strong adherence to espoused principles, smaller schools such as LMU in Los Angeles have this to say:

Beautiful moral clarity by smaller universities in defense of free thinking, diversity and equity. Will the “Target effect” hit flagship universities who bend the knee to Trump?
I know of another Jesuit school that re-wrote their DEI stuff based on Jesuit/ Catholic principles too... aligning everything for a religious defense if challenged.
“As a Jesuit and Marymount University, we practice diversity, equity and inclusion because we are Catholic, and our faith and the First Amendment protect our right to live out these values.
As a gay woman, I would very much like “celibate” old men to stop telling others what to do with their bodies. But maybe let’s focus on the point at hand.
Efforts to restrict DEl are in opposition to Christ's teachings of radical inclusion and love. LMU will continue to champion academic freedom, social justice and human dignity not as politics, but as moral imperatives required by our faith.”
While so many putative Christians are replacing their discipleship of Christ with idolatry for the nation and its leader, it is so refreshing to see a countervailing universalism that embraces the actual text of the Bible.
Indeed. I am a cradle Catholic and I was raised in the Jesuit tradition with a social justice orientation. I don't recognize Vance's Catholicism. That is not to say that there isn't much to detest about the church's dogma, but I learned treat others as you would want to be treated as a basic tenet.
I do need to report that I am incapable of sending something out into the public without a typo - I meant grounded. And yes I did check to make sure I didn't write pubic.
😄. I was responding to a comment the other day, and thought I typed "apt for our country." Before I hit send, I saw my typos led my phone to correct to "hot for pirate country" 😂😂
I once dictated a message to a colleague that was intended to say "I want to expand my private studio" and came out as "I want to back up my privates to you." Fortunately I caught it before hitting send.
There was a sign for the Milwaukee Public Market that was very prominent as you drove along 795E - and one day one of the Ls was burnt out. It was not the one in Milwaukee. I almost went off the road.
I’m agnostic and generally not a fan of organized religion (particularly the white nationalist christofascist flavor), but I do, in fact, gotta hand it to modern-day Jesuits.

It's not often I see something I wish I had written, and I wish it didn't have to be written either, but that is an absolute *masterpiece*.
