Paranoia brought on by the Covid era really sent some of these people off the deep end. Lacking the emotional intelligence and critical thinking skills to sort through the resulting trauma and mis/disinfo peddled by opportunists, they'll probably keep sinking further down those murky depths
COVID really was a once-in-a-lifetime (π€) event that tested a lot of people's convictions.
One of the most underrated events caused by COVID was Penn Jillette publicly breaking up with libertarianism because of how sociopathic libertarians were acting during COVID.
The inability of "patriots" to unite against the obviously & universally common enemy of a PLAGUE really opened my eyes to how lost some people are. They can't determine reality, making them feel powerless and insecure & only feel powerful when given an enemy to hurt- 5G towers, Fauci, Chinese ppl
If you listened to his podcast back in the day, you'd see that his recent actions are consistent with who he has been for years. Comedians whose humor relies on punching up instead of punching down, generally age better IMO.
I've always liked him, and known him to have good takes in general, but he 1st REALLY grabbed my attention when he was replying to some jackass on his podcast about how bad socialism is and Burr clapped back with how multinational companies own almost all the housing in America
It's just dishonest to paint bill as some Palestinian activist by hearing a small clip of an hour long performance is all I'm getting at.
I know that many on the left have been protesting all of the US's interventions for some time - I think this shines a light on how common folk perceive them
He didnβt make fun of them for what they were doing or insult their cause his point was the hypocrisy of protesting a foreign government when our government is doing the same shit all the time. It wasnβt a very well made point but it wasnβt anti-Palestine.
Watch. As Bill Burr gains momentum youβll see more follow him just because they want a piece of the pie. Same reason you saw all the Rogan clones pop up in the last 5 years.
He's very effective at getting a message across in simple, easily understandable "common sense" terms. The left in general could use more of this kind of messaging.
First he hurts Ethanβs feelings by showing how bad he as a content creator during an βinterviewβ and then he shows that heβs much better, funnier, and knowledgeable on Israel.
Of course Ethan wouldnβt go against him because Bill would fucking kill him
If Ethan were a bit more confident and secure in himself I think it would have been way better. I didnβt used to have an opinion about him, except that I didnβt really like H3. But I think the problem is just Ethan lol. At least from the one video, it sounds like Bill gave him another chance?
God remember Rogan's last standup routine, and how it felt like a Ricky Gervais skit from 10 years ago? How do supposedly witty people lose all charm and skill at the craft?
Letβs not forget, even though he gets some things right, Bill says a lot of stupid shit too. He hates the left and he hasnβt dropped his misogyny. π€·πΌββοΈ
Has he done anything to apologize or grow from being a transphobic piece of shit? Imo acknowledging a genocide is the absolute bare minimum and that shouldn't be enough to forget a past of bigotry

Yet another reason why single-payer healthcare is necessary.

They are still electing to kill children.
