He showed respect where respect was due, and that’s appropriate and admirable. I’d posit that showing respect when it is not due is both inappropriate and counterproductive to the objective of mutual respect.
I wish there was more of this. I wish ppl can be proud of what they do and still appreciate those around them. I wish more ppl lifted each other up. Our talents are not diminished when we recognize the talents of others.
This isn't about respect. This is about elevating your fellow player who, just so happened to be the opponent that just beat you. Respect is kinda just there in how the game is conducted. This is beyond.
A lot of kids & way too many adults think it’s cool to be mean and disrespectful.I partially blame reality TV programs which aren’t really reality. We really need to find a way to change attitudes.Make kindness great again.
And how about post-game trophy ceremonies that don’t exalt football players as warriors. This is not ancient Rome for fucks sake, it’s a stupid college football game.
If college football suddenly went away, do you have any idea of the adverse economic consequences for most of this country? The unemployment alone would cripple many communities.
Things that have turned into big business become empty husks of their former selves. College football is a textbook example. It’s not fun anymore, it’s gross.
I am continually amazed at just how fucking stupid these multi-million bux coaches truly are. Outside of football, they're mostly ignorant gundigelical morons.
Lucky for these morons, we're even dumber, and happy to applaud their idiotic christo-crapfest. As long as they win.
“. . . Jesus said to them, “Every kingdom divided against itself will be laid waste, and every city or household divided against itself will not stand.”
Matthew 12:25
“Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”
John 14:6
This was pure class. Less have more of this instead of trash talking, stomping on ankles and celebrating a first down like a clown when you're 31 points down in the fourth quarter.
That kid waited until the interview was done to congratulate Howard. That is classy and what sports should be all about. This is what we taught when I coached many years ago.
Do you think this now common exaggeration I feel happens after every play/1st down/touchdown is because of toxic CV coaching? I often feel a bit cringe when players do this.
I remember fair play and the respect for the opposite team used to be part of being a good player.
Right, Ducks be a Classy Bunch. Traeshon Holden, a wide receiver for the University of Oregon, was ejected from a game against Ohio State after spitting on Ohio State cornerback Davison Igbinosun
No university uses tuition to pay coaches. I know because I was once VP of Student Affairs at one of the largest universities in the country. Most Athletics departments actually contribute to the operating budget and are money makers that support other programs, particularly women’s sports.
Then students need to stop demanding services that cost a LOT of money. College isn’t a spa service, vacation, dining experience; etc. as for coaches, if the market supports the salary, and the money comes from outside sources, I see no problem. END OF STORY.
And another reason for the rise in tuition is that in 1979 when I started in Higher Education, the State of SC paid around 77% of student tuition, by the early 2000’s that percentage dropped to just over 26%.
And I’m one of the ones who has publicly spoken out about this. There is an old Chronicle of Higher Education article I co-wrote in 1993 stating that student loans would be the next big bubble to burst in HE; and it did.
While at University of New England, I oversaw the completion of a new gym that included a state of the art work out center, pool, and multiple courts. We also built a new ice hockey arena as well as a new football field with blue artificial turf. People have no concept of the enormous costs involved
Now, the reason I left higher education was because of what I felt were predatory student loans and a lack of transparency. The problems in higher education are not football nor faculty pay, nor is it tuition increases, it is redundancy of programs. Every school does not need to offer every major.
I was involved in higher education when tuition began to rise, rapidly. I spent 23 million just in renovations to our five dining facilities, not to mention the cost of apartment style dorms, new work out facilities, and demands for other premium services THAT COST MONEY.
Like I been tellin’ folks in Buckeye Country “Hell they better win it all they got the best roster money can buy!”
$20 million the “NIL Collective” put out for Smith, Howard and some other players…..not to be outdone UM has….well.. Google Bryce Underwood!
Hell with the bye for the top teams…
Nothing new, tbh. I’m a Michigan alum and lifelong fan, but stopped going to the Big House for Ohio State games. The fans are absolutely insufferable in victory and defeat.
Likewise, but that’s not Howard though. He seems like a class act. For the sake of the B1G, I hope tOSU wins out and the Maize & Blue thump their a$$ at home once again next season.
I doubt we’ll get anything as light as a vacated championship. I hear they’re going to redirect the Johnstown Flood of Buckeye tears from the last four years towards Ann Arbor.
And the UT coach talking to the kicker before his second flubbed kick. It was very nice and def how I would want my kids coached if I had kids who played team sports.
I can't take American Football seriously. Any game where competitors have to strap on 50lbs of Robocop armour before they're willing to take the field is nonsense.
It's a damn shame that Howard has been brainwashed into believing his imaginary friend is real and cares about how good he throws a ball. Less praising Jeebus and more being in touch with reality.

Those kids get it

Tez Johnson just got a huge fan.
This was a good moment and I'm happy to see it.
You either have it in you or you don't. He does!

Goodness that shows up in humanity has been written down for thousands of years and it all leads back to our Creator.
“The fear of the Lord is the instruction of wisdom, and humility comes before honor.” Proverbs 15:33
Matthew 12:25
“Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”
John 14:6
What a Gentleman.
that is the correct word, right?
You don't hear that with such sentiment very much in life.

Oh and over priced college tuition
College coaches make too much $$$
End of story
He’s about to lose tonight
Regarding tuition, college costs have increased by 40% over the last ten years
My bet is it is not because of the all you can eat pizza or the cost of pickle ball courts
Are you a wealthy donor ?
