It kind of sucks that I’ve put most of my hope in things getting better on a bunch of people getting burned by the administration’s incompetence and then rising up.

based on how the last 10 years have gone, the uprising will come, but 95% chance it will be once its too late (military / police has been purged to loyalists, “good” politicians gone, all news compromised, elections rigged, etc) much older countries than ours went through the same shit.
Right? Read something about someone shutting down Social Security as an act of malicious compliance and I’m like please do it. That’ll speed things up.
I'm retired. I lived paycheck-to-paycheck my entire working life & I now live SS deposit-to-SS deposit. If I don't get *one* it will be disastrous for me. No rent, no bills, no groceries.
I don't know if that will even move people to be honest. You see how people didn't even look after their own health with COVID or how anti vax parents double down when a kid dies. I dunno. I think a lot of people are just going to get hurt. Humans adapt, for better or worse.
Americans are exceptionally invested in their own comfort, it'll take more than some layoffs and a few court orders ignored to get them to take up action. People start missing their SSI and Medicaid, that's something else entirely.
I have a hard time believing the industrialists are ok with this. Defence, auto,ag, and other sectors are going to lose world market share that they won't get back. World's down on Tesla now, how long before it's Ford, GM and everyone else too?

Just nothing has worked so far, no matter how obviously bad.
Most of these folks still wanted people to suffer, they just got some on them.
