My cancer hospital has removed N95 masks from the hospital entrance so patients and visitors have the option of no mask or a surgical mask 🫠

Right? Gah. The lack of public education has fed the overstory of "COVID isn't an issue anymore", so with so few people knowledgeable on the subject, we become outliers... other. It's so hard to come back from that.

When they choose to, PH officials educate about different mask types & their effectiveness. In LA they now tell people to wear N95s to best protect from smoke & they're available at library branches. Will they ever explain that SARS2 spreads like smoke & N95s protect better than surgicals?

Ppl in procedure masks sometimes ask me for a better mask bc I wear one. I carry extra to hand out. I can only afford so much though.

They may not be able to afford them. Hospitals sometimes give away baggy blues at dispensers at the door, for those who forget (although my hospital now has empty dispensers)
