DEIA policies are necessary because we don’t live in a “colour blind & merit based” society.
They literally save lives.

The excuses became more & more outlandish. It was always my fault. I had to change something about my lifestyle.
No one believed me or tried to figure it out /3
Eventually I started to believe that maybe it WAS all in my head. Which made me push my body even more /4
He didn’t say anything different than what I said at every visit, but they listened to him when they wouldn’t listen to me /5
They were working on acknowledging and addressing the barriers to care facing women and marginalized individuals /6
