The implications go even beyond trans -- not that that isn't dystopian enough. But If ADHD/autistic people's neurotypes mean our understanding of our gender should be considered invalid, what else are we not allowed to decide? What other statements from us about our own lives will be disregarded?

But I do think "born this way" still has a defiant side to it too:
So -- if I was NOT born this way, I should still get to do it/be it.
But also, and especially from an ND perspective -- if I WAS born this way, I should still not be assumed to be in need of fixing.
ND/trans person: My brain does not match Gender X. I can't show you my inner self but...
NHS: But we can! This brain scan proves your brain does not match Gender X
ND/trans person: Good, that's what I said. I'm Gender Y.
NHS: This means you're Gender X.
ND/trans person: ...what.
