After you die, no-one will speak glowingly about how you were at work all the time. They'll remember you for the good you did and the good times they had with you..
If you're on benefits there's fuck all else to do. I used to joke that, arguably, British loafers were the best educated people in the world given our libraries and museums and subsidised arts. There's a smidgen of truth in that although less so today with cruel empty vessels in govt.
Is that escapism and lack of engagement or is it a way of deepening one’s understanding of the world? Or both/either? I ask the question because I’m genuinely unsure.
