My dumb kid brain (11) thought that 12 wasn’t gonna be funny like the previous doctors because of ‘how old he looked’ cuz apparently I thought ‘old = unfunny’ but over the years I heard about how great he was and I feel bad I didn’t get to grow up watching him 😔

I can't imagine skipping any era of new who. I've been introducing my bf to the show and he loved 9. We're on season 7 now, and I'm so glad he likes the show. Watching 9 gave him so much context and understanding of the character building! Watch all the eras!

Loved Capaldi but was extremely disappointed that Jodie Whittaker was not given any chance. Horrible companions. Wooden sad sack actors, not very many good stories, made up stuff to stretch canon, even the music was not up to the level, of especially since 2000. They screwed her IMO

Like Bill's death was so mean-spirited and poorly written that I just gave up. Watching the Doctor give a dumb speech about doing good to the person who murdered her made me actually hate Capaldi.

I loved Capaldi's Doctor! He's definitely up there with Tennant and Smith! I think he had the best arc out of the modern day doctors so far. I think Tennant had the best stand alone stories, like Blink. Smith was just fun!

The easiest place to start with is 100% series 1 of the 2005 revival of the show, since it was the return of the show after a massive hiatus and they had to reintroduce everything (also it's a damn good season of tv)

Capaldi became my favourite Dr from his excellent performances. Even if the writing was a bit meh. He was so good it elevated bad scripts.

Tenant is great, but I love the Capaldi's more embittered take more. I also wish that Eccleston had more seasons to flesh out his version.

I think Capaldi is great although series 8 is a bit rough for me. Series 10 is truly masterful, pun intended. I think it is the last truly great series of Dr. Who and the best post-Tenant series. I really like the monk trilogy, even though a lot of fans seem to have problems with it.

I remember when Capaldi was announced as the next Doctor I was immensely disappointed because he seemed like some grumpy old man. I watched the era but lost interest almost entirely.

Having rewatched it I have no idea what I was thinking, it is top tier. Capaldi is one of the greats.

4, 10, 11, 12 are my faves. I also enjoyed 7... but that might have been the relief of 5 & 6 being over.
