We also did it in Alaska in 2020, Utah in 2022, and Nebraska in 2024. So no, Democrats should not remove themselves from the top of the ballot in large swaths of the country (including areas like Kansas where we are gaining ground) for a tactic that regularly fails.

Look at Missouri, my home state. Used to elect Democrats all the time until 2016 and its voters do things like vote to put abortion protections in the constitution. There haven't been dramatic changes in demographics or candidates. It is purely the black spot a "D" puts on a candidate.
