It's always based on somebody's "nagging feeling" too, so rarely any actual evidence. And in my experience many of the potential issues pointed to can be fixed/managed, if there's good management. (pretty rare, sadly)

I've worked from home since COVID and absolutely love it. My set up is now far better than any office I've ever worked in. I also don't like having to be pally with people in work that I wouldn't give the time of day outside the office as I have a low tolerance of dickheads.

I’ve worked from home for 3 years now. I don’t clock off when the office shuts. I work when I’m unwell, and I don’t swap germs with my colleagues making me more frequently ill. There’s no distractions so I can get my head down and concentrate harder. The employer doesn’t need to pay office costs.

If the work is getting done and done correctly - why the hell does it matter where it’s done? Authoritarian bosses want you ‘in’ so they can loom over people. I mean who can you vindictively intimidate if no-one’s in the office?
