Our old Maine Coon had a feather-on-a-stick toy that had been chewed to a fuzzy nub, but she still wailed while hauling it around. We called it the "Song of the Stick."
The only thing #Maze does that with is Valen, her Beanie Baby. Usually at night, she will bring Valen to the bedroom and then back into the living room during the day.
