Murder Before Evensong by Richard Coles. (The Reverend Richard Coles)
and
Supervolcano: Eruption by Harry Turtledove.
next up is The Andromeda Evolution by Michael Crichton.
I just finished his Time of the Child which is set in Faha a few years later.
This is Happiness has stuck with me so I jumped on it as soon as I saw it.
Love Niall Williams!
I am reading “Convergent Evolution” edited by Vincent L. Bels and Anthony P. Russell. 90% of my reading is non-fiction.
No, I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone whose favourites are fiction - very very heavy on scientific detail, such as how the hairs on a gecko’s pad work and the bones in its hand.
Non-fiction:
That Librarian: The Fight Against Book-Banning in America by Amanda Jones
Mystery:
A Refiner's Fire by Donna Leon (set in Venice, Italy)
Art:
Gustav Klimt Landscapes
I am reading The Rule of Threes by Jeffrey Deaver, and Atomic Habits by James Clear. Also The Lodger by CL Taylor and Sweet Little Lies by Karin Nordic.
All excellent books.
I recently reread the Dresden Files books. I'm currently rereading the Dragonlance books.
One of my favorite books is John Dies at the End. It's weird but entertaining.
"Wifedom" by Anna Funder. Subtitled "Mrs Orwell's Invisible Life". Exposee of the 'great man's' careless treatment of his faithful and talented companion. Read it and get angry.
Let me throw my titles at ya. Parallel Circuit, crime drama, and Ignite Earth Red Giant, sci-fi doomsday. Check out blurbs. Reviews on Amazon. https://www.wandavargasauthor.com
Orbital by Samatha Harvey (Booker Prize) and Chasing Hope by Nick Kristof.
Trying to read fiction and nonfiction at the same time, not sure how it’s going to work out 🤪🤪
I recently finished Looking for Jane by Heather Marshall and can’t stop thinking about it. Will the U.S. revert to such a dangerous system? Frightening to consider, but hopefully heroic people will rise up again, if needed.
If you like indie Scifi/Fantasy with romance, adventure, sword/sorcery, necromancers/monsters, reluctant hero MMC, genius-level FMC, blend of science/magic, and an epic battle of good vs. evil, you'll enjoy my book:
May I also recommend my short #Possession story "In Love"? It's a #thriller and #horror too and a hommage to the #exorcist 😈 However, it does have a twist ending. Read for free on my website https://pagimate.com/writers/leyla-cardena-author/
In my #thriller Becoming Insane Jack and John will confront the monsters of their minds. With elements of #horror and #darkfantasy it pushes the boundaries of their imaginations. Reached n°3 on Amazon hot new releases in #LGBTQ and #horror and free on #KindleUnlimited: https://pge.me/3rbyBP

I finished A Walk Across The Sun, very thought provoking. Reminds me of the film Sound of Freedom. I thought Wastelands was a series, have to go and find the book then.
I keep a few on the go. Currently it's "of boys and men" by Richard Reeves (nonfiction on the state of men today), I Finally Bought Some Jordans by Michael Arceneaux (essays on culture by a Black gay American man), and What the Chicken Knows by Sy Montgomery (nonfiction, about chickens).
"Uprising," about a Polish girl during the Nazi occupation (based on a true story). Geared more towards adolescents, but it felt appropriate for these times.
Once Upon a Time: The Lives of Bob Dylan by Ian Bell. First of two volumes published in 2013. Meticulously researched and beautifully written. He died far too young.

Just finished, “The Truth About Women in Construction”
will start “The Man Who Broke Capitalism: How Jack Welch Gutted the Heartland” soon
I prefer Thriftbooks as a source, but bought the Construction bk from the author. Amazon has all three.
