Gov Jared Polis (D) says Colorado is not "in any way, shape, or form" a sanctuary state. I asked Polis if that's misleading given Colorado's legal limits on local cooperation with ICE. #copolitics https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zJLDR9y8ENA

I 100% agree here. Dictator has made it very clear that sanctuary cities are at the top of the list for persecution.
We need to fly under the radar while we figure out how to fight back
Oh. He 100% wants to run for President. So as a national Democrat he could never take a stand on something important. He wouldn’t fit in with the feckless national brand.
they've already come for his way of life and the only way he won't be out of office and in jail because of tr*mp's policies is if people like us fight like hell. what a bootlicking wimp
More questions asked in super good faith, Kyle! If the feds want to waste resources on civil enforcement, they need to use their own damn money - simple as that.
Right?! They’re so used to inventing BS to cry about, it never occurred to them to wait and see if he did anything that might genuinely make a decent amount of people re-think their vote.
A few years ago I went on a tour of the mint and I was actually proud to see a huge banner on the Denver City and County Building that said "Denver ❤️ Immigrants". Like I genuinely felt good about my fellow man for two seconds. Too bad Gov Polis disagrees with that sentiment.
Polis is not the kind of democrat we need to push back against the anti democracy of the new federal government. We need opposition candidates, not suck ups.
Thankfully, most people in Colorado live in the city of Denver, and the mayor of Denver, Mike Johnston, has been much more aggressive in his opposition to Trump.
But still, Denver remains a protector of migrants. It does sadden me to realize that so many people may still be in danger. I wonder what the city can do to help outside of its borders.
Likely metropolitan population. Census areas are a little odd in my opinion (e.g. Denver MSA includes Clear Creek, Elbert, Gilpin, and Park counties but not Boulder), but the 7-county area that e.g. RTD serves is about 3.2M or about 55% of the state's population.
@govofco.bsky.social I so want to love you, but this is extremely disappointing. Migrants commit far fewer violent crimes than US citizens. We are begging you to take a stand and stop walking this effing tightrope.
@govofco.bsky.social stop groveling in submission to feed your own ambition!! You owe it to Coloradans to stand up and fight back against this nazi peril!! Declare a state of emergency! Resist! show up!!!
Polis, as of late, has been saying things contrary to what he used to stand for. Here's the deal: He's term limited so he's going to make a run for a senate seat or maybe trying to score a position in the Trump administration.
Polis is so confusing, one minute he's "will go to jail" to block mass deportations, then turns around and says CO isn't a sanctuary state? It sounds so contradictory
I don't pay much attention to political party, his actions and statements are just confusing to me. I moved to Colorado just over a year ago so I don't know about his politics before 2023.
They also sucked before that, but he has the money to buy elections. I don't know a single person who wanted to vote for him in 2022, but nobody primaried him and the Republican candidate was a Trump-loving conspiracy theorist.
Not having a primary to know these candidates and relying purely on political affiliation is the exactly why we have someone like Polis is office, it's so dumb
Most people do not pay attention to local politics enough to care about these elections. Let alone any primaries. We had 12 people run for mayor of Denver last time. Money and insider hand shake deals still won in the end.
100%. He got national attention for bragging about keeping the state "open" during the pandemic like he was the Desantis of the west. Anyone surprised that he's another useless Blue Dog Democrat just hasn't been paying attention.
I think he's going to be the first white fat Jewish gay man that flips to support the Christian Republicans, he basically is heading down that path already, once his term is up, he's going to go to a knee and kiss the fat orange ring
@jaredpollis is the most pathetic representation for Colorado. He stands for nothing. He’s a DiNO and hasn’t done one thing to help the migrants who were shipped here. He is a DEI hire that I’m glad is almost done.
- Busing Migrants to Other Cities: Polis initiated a program to bus migrants from Denver to cities like New York City and Chicago, aiming to help them reach their desired destinations. This was done in response to a significant influx of migrants into Denver, with the state facilitating voluntary
State of Emergency and Federal Aid Requests: In coordination with Denver Mayor Michael Hancock, Polis declared a state of emergency in December 2022 due to the overwhelming number of migrants arriving in Denver.
They also jointly requested federal aid to help manage the situation, particularly in light of the expected end of Title 42, a policy that allowed for the quick expulsion of migrant
- Financial Support: Polis announced that Colorado had set aside $5 million to assist migrants, including purchasing bus tickets for those who wanted to travel elsewhere. This was part of a broader effort to manage the migrant influx while ensuring humane treatment
Cite a source. Show me he didn’t anything. You seem to be angry for no reason at all. How do you think all those shelters in Denver for migrants, you know the entire hotels, were paid for?
Has the media not learned about this both sides crap Kyle?
We are in a dangerous spot and this question is just stupid. How about focusing on the impending economic crisis or the conditions under which this people are being held.
I’m out in 58 days. I built a factory here and created local jobs. I got to spend time at S.A.R.A. and break ground on particle acceleration Project Scorpius and I got a sweet deal on a rescue pup. Now that the faucet is situated I’m moving back to Cali.
Polis is quite rapidly losing my trust. Please continue to hold his feet to the fire on these issues- I'm not losing good Coloradans who have settled here from dire circumstances because he doesn't want to be the "bad guy" in Trump's world.

Kyle should focus on what is being done to help these people and looking into the conditions under which they are being held.
It is a stupid gotcha question.
We need to fly under the radar while we figure out how to fight back

Stop being part of the problem.
