Time frame is a problem,as is just using a texting app for gov business. I’m most struck by the cavalier nature of the interaction. Discussing killing people in the same tone frat boys would arrange a mixer. Does not seem like serious professional people. No real grasp of the gravity of it at all.

I agree that it is wise to be skeptical about leaks because they can be used as a way to deceive/manipulate the public.

A good question to ask is, "what might they potentially stand to gain by leaking this?" and ask that assuming the info is true, and again assuming it is false.

In this case, there could be many possible answers.

But this seems like it could be their undoing. It is a major hit to their public credibility, weakens miltary trust in leadership, and will have many other consequences.

I don't see any benefit outweighing the damage yet, so I believe it is real.
