As excited as I am for GameCube games to be accessible on NSO, I probably won't actually use the NSO library much because I still play my GC all the time and all my save data is on memory cards. GC loses a lot without access to GBA stuff as well. Almost every game had some crossover feature. - ThreadSky

I have, actually. Thinking about it for my DOL 001 cube, since it’s the same way. But I have limited soldering knowledge, and only a board tip on my iron, so flippy drive may be better this time.

Animal Crossing is best with other towns to visit... on Memory Cards. Chao Garden is best with other gardens... on Memory Cards. XD Gale of Darkness is best with Pokemon from your GBA games for Orre Colo. Hard to think of a GC game I love besides Kirby Air Ride that doesn't use hardware that way.

The main benefit of NSO is that people who want a surface level experience of a game like Colo will be able to play it without needing the disc, but the real depth in these games is kind of locked away behind needing peripheral stuff, like Stadium 1&2 on the N64. Will be different experiences.

My biggest, unrealistic pipe dream is that Nintendo's been holding back on adding Gen123 to NSO until Switch 2, so the new system's extra horsepower can easily accommodate forwards and backwards transfer using Pokémon HOME. That'd change everything!

It'll never happen, ofc. But I can dream.

Would be super nice if modern technology can bridge the gap in some way since GC and GBA libraries are both somewhat available (although Pokemon is still not on NSO on the GBA). Also would be cool if you could connect to friends save data without physical memory cards. Hasn't been promised though.

The ideal would be if they figured out a way to have Home compatibility with GBA and Colo/XD saves, at least as far as Pokemon is concerned. In theory I could even see it being possible since Home is essentially just a save editor with a lot of extra UI trappings

Actually, I *have* used NSO extensively. The GameCube's multiplayer features are save data tied, not about having additional players join a session, which is how it currently works. Also I have used it enough to know that there's serious latency issues with multiplayer games on NSO lol

Im just thankful because GC games are absurdly expensive. Whenever I see them at a game store or online they're like 10x more expensive than Xbox and PS2 stuff. Like Melee is constantly 180, wind waker is always 90-100+, etc.
