In a room of Bowser's Keep in Super Mario RPG, there is an invisible Mallow floating out of bounds. Here is what he looks like when made visible. He has no scripts or interactions, remaining completely inert at all times. His purpose is unknown.

I didn't see anything notable like that when I first came across it. There's a command that unloads him from the room before fade in and that's about it

It was debunked, but as an example of load-bearing nonsense, I'd say it's still valid.
