I have said this from the beginning and I have been quite insistent on it. They seek to make a society without us. It is both hard to rip the reins away from them, but also extremely brittle. To beat these fuckers, all we have to do is survive; live. Radical survival, recognizing the high chance of
becoming outside the law. Both outside it's protection and it's purview. We must take advantage of that last bit if the first bit is going to befall us.
This is the origin of all gangs and criminal elements, and it will necessarily be the origin of ours as well if our liberal counterparts don't get
So true, so absurd. US culture war can make any thing ‘debatable.’ It’s a race to the bottom. Now we have “do sick people deserve medical care?” This includes CHILDREN. Also, “is it wrong to shoot children in the head?” And “are all Nazis bad?” And “should women get to vote?” It’s endless.
Good insight. That moment stood out to me as well.
Leibowitz's interview as a whole stood out as being unusually savvy, and I say that knowing he and I disagree on a lot of the details. But he clearly saw the traps in that interview for what they were and avoided most of them very deftly.
I’m gonna be on a panel about trans issues tomorrow and I’m going to paraphrase and give you credit / point to where ppl can find. Thank you so much for articulating this point.
hello I'm Amany from gaza can I ask your help gently, Please, I’m begging you — would you be able to help my children? They are hungry and crying from pain. I need to buy food and flour to feed them. Please don’t turn me away. Your kindness could make a world in my life 🙏🏻😭
I listened to the first episode on The Daily. I'm surprised a NYT publication is allowed to talk to doctors and patients without input from these right-wing groups. Hopefully it continues like this and maybe NYT will turn the corner. They did credit Emily Bazelon though.
Sad truth. MAGA focuses on the binary. And as with other issues, no amount of science, pleas for empathy or justice matters. Any challenge to a binary world view is unacceptable. This is true of much of evangelicalism. Nuance is too much. 2 facts being true at the same time is beyond their logic.
To my fellow humans, to my trans friends I just haven't met yet. I see you. And I care for you. And my thoughts, opinions, concerns, questions or journey of understanding are mine. No one gets to say if you exist, as if that was a question. Grace and peace to you all.
