With great sadness, I have to report Paul 'Fat Bloke' Sawyer has passed on.
If it wasn't for Paul, I would never have become a White Dwarf writer. He had faith in me when many others did not.
It is likely because of Paul that I am now making comics.
My deepest condolences to the Sawyer family. π

Rest in peace, sir.
Yours was a bold personality that shone through White Dwarf, which was so full of personality itself.
Thanks Paul for lighting my imagination on fire
Thoughts with the family during this difficult time.
Thanks for the memories
You are one of greatest.
Today is a very sad day. Expected new but I'm devastated right now.
He was editor of WD when I first got into the hobby and fond memories of the articles and hobby inspiration from then.
Condolences to the family and to everyone.
Again I'm very sorry for your loss.
Condolences to his family and friends.
So sorry to hear this, Nick. You, Paul and the WD team helped give me a life long love of scifi and fantasy. Not to mention a hobby that helped give a dyspraxic kid (and now as an adult) confidence.
White Dwarf under his stewardship was a joy to read each month.
My deepest condolences to his family and friends.
And then going on to found Warlord Games. I've enjoyed many a game of Bolt Action thanks to him (and John and the rest).
