I was so into this band and even though this isn’t my favorite record it’s obvious why it became so popular. Everything about this music makes me feel good.

I was obsessed with the Stripes in the early 2000’s. Their shows at Brixton Academy in 2005 were two of the best gigs I ever attended. The sound and energy from just two people on stage was immense.
You had me at, “Lazer Guided Melodies”. I still remember the hazy basement thirty years ago where I heard, “Sway” for the first time. Changed everything.
It’s so good. De Stijl is still (Stijl?) my favourite, and I think they went off the boil a little bit after Elephant, but yeah, ‘popular one =/= good one’ definitely not the case!
Yep. Elephant is excellent, but imo not more so than any of the first three. The s/t would be the one I would run out the door with, but each of these first four are equally important to me.
I also listened to Get Behind Me Satan a lot, liked Icky Thump although it didn't get played as much, collected a bunch of live recordings. But just can't get that interested in Jack's solo career. The hype got me to check out the latest, but it didn't hook me.
i love Icky Thump but it got tiring for me. I still can't get into his solo stuff, I like some of his Deadweather and Raconteurs stuff a lot more. I Can't Hear You is a great track
I often forget how good (and exciting) they were. Saw them a couple of times in tiny clubs when they first came to the UK. My wife was heavily pregnant but refused to miss the shows which is something we’re now laughing hard about.
