One reason that James Dyson is so angry could be that he bought 36,000 acres of British farmland with a view to saving roughly Β£100 million in inheritance tax. Curiously The Timesβ news article fails to mention this. π€

Why are the already tax dodging wealthy worried about dodging tax when they're dead? Are they all expecting to be reincarnated? If they're squealing Labour are doing the right thing.
Dyson says it will 'kill off home grown family businessesβ - this from a bloke who took his family business out of the UK for tax and production benefits. How two faced
Most tax breaks arise from Governments trying to nudge people towards what they see as societal goods, unfortunately the criminal classes and their tax advisors inevitably get involvedβ¦
I've seen it pointed out somewhere - I forget where though π - that the UK has privately owned mass media, and those private owners are the exact demographic that will have to pay more under this budget. So it's really not surprising that the media seem to hate it so much.
Also... Why should anyone give flying fuck about a man whose primary wealth is in Monaco and who's factories are in China and Singapore? Pricks like Dyson should be treated as the extremely fringe cases they are, not front-page news
I pity the level of insecurity he must have. Fancy 'needing' to save his family from an additional Β£100m inheritance tax. Are they incapable of a job in one of his factories?
So obvious that his motivation is to preserve his personal wealth and he didnβt see this coming (Even tho he still benefits from the agri-reduced level of tax)
Also missing are details of key locations which are outside the UK.
Wikipedia, defines Dyson
as a Singapore multi national technology company.
Products made in Malaysia .
Fly the Flag !!
He did all that work to dodge a tax bill, and now his trick doesnβt work. How βspitefulβ of the Government to close the loophole he was attempting to exploit.
Itβs shabby journalism by The Timesβ George Grylls and Georgia Lambert, who really ought to have mentioned that James Dyson owns 36,000 acres of farmland, on which his executors stood to save Β£100m in IHT before Rachel Reeves closed the loophole. via @privateeyenews.bsky.social
It is almost as if the policy was actually designed to not affect small farms, be workable-around for medium ones, and close a f***ing enormous loophole which the super-rich were using to avoid inheritance tax.
I remember when Dyson built a super basement in his Grade 1 listed Georgian mansion & neglected to get planning permission.
He got away with no penalty too.
Time these spoilt, entitled people paid their fair share.
Maybe the worry of the Dyson Clarkson sect is they now have multi mill Β£ farms that their uber rich buddies won't want to buy ad tax dodges.
If this means the death of mega farms then great. Small to med farms, owned and managed by farmers, with a tax system that protects them. Whats not to like?
i'd much prefer to be remembered as the person who gave his money away to build schools, hospitals and libraries than as a cunt that hoarded it all and constantly moaned about it. what a prick (if i had any i'm normally skint)
This is the same James Dyson who touted Brexit, yet quickly moved his business to Malaysia after the leave vote? The same Dyson who still happily took EU subsidies for his farms? The same Dyson who has been accused of exploiting his Malaysian workers?
What an utter tool. Boycott his products.
I can't even imagine having Β£100 million let alone "saving" that much. Surely if you have so much that that is the *additional* tax you could pay, you can afford to pay it?
Of course, if we didn't have brexit, which he so enthusiastically supported, we wouldn't need to raise taxes so considerably. Just for once he will get what he deserves.

James Dyson has hurt British farmers.
Iβm sure a patriot like him will apologise to his compatriots very promptly.
