Really good game, felt it dragged towards the end and a little disjointed at times. Other than that itβs fantastic. Did not deserve the hate and venom thrown its way at all.
The one thing that even the haters would have to agree on, is that this game is a masterpiece on most levels. On a technical level, on a performance level, on a musical level... Naughty Dog brought the ruckus.
I'll never forget the article I read talking about their originally planned ending for Ellie after I finished it. I was actually feeling a little 50/50 on that!
I think it's up to the writers tbh, this is what they wanted and I think its brave asf. I respect them more for going with their own ideas instead of just giving people what they want! The shock factor was off the charts. I loved part 2 honestly I thought the cycle being broken was awesome.
I find it hard to say what I want to say without spoiling anything, but I will say that the ramifications beyond the cycle (i.e. everyone else involved) had me feeling either could work. A lot of emotions involved! But yeah, that's all part of why I loved the game.
I like it. But by the time I reached the end of the game, I felt so burned out by Ellie that I didn't really care much if she lived or died. Though I'm still glad she DIDN'T die.
It's such a great game that shows you how easily revenge can happen, the cause of people's actions and how a lot of that is just a Neverending chain and how to break that. People who hated this game don't like to feel things or can't understand their own emotions I think.
Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love TLOU2. Its gameplay systems, graphics and animations are definitely 10/10. It was more the pacing that bugged me the most, and I kinda wish the last chapter was longer, it would have been cool to see more of Santa Barbara.
Absolute masterpiece! My only two complaints just boil down to some weird pacing issues in the middle of the game and (for me) itβs nowhere near as replayable as the first.
As I was playing it I was loving the gameplay but not the story (mainly because of the switching characters) and by the end I realised how great the story was. One of the best games!
I liked everything but the story, it just didn't do anything for me but i don't think it's something worth the drama that other people engage in over it π€·
The only positive of Last of Us 2 is the gameplay. The rest made me feel 2 feelings I never wanted to feel from any game ever again: emptiness and betrayal.
I lost faith in the entire franchise after playing it. If you enjoy it, good on you.
After recently playing TLOUP1 remake I'm torn on which I prefer, 1 is easier because of no rat king section π TLOU2 might be the most over hated game in existence
In so many ways the game was fantastic, combat mechanics, the further into TLOU2 you go the more despair you get from the characters as the world around them is spiralling more into chaos, the only drawback for me was the execution of the story could of been better
I've been seeing a lot of reactors lately, who avoided the game because of all the kerfuffle, really liking the game. And they "get it," too!

I wasn't a fan of the game but thats my experience no one else's, my opinions are mine not an objective fact.
Except what I say about Baldur's Gate 3, I will die on the hill of that being the best D&D style rpg ever.
Kinda gutted we didnβt get Factions in the end. Sure, it would have been a dilution of the core product. On the other hand, ND shotguns.
I think The Last of Us 1 is the most overrated game in history

The launch drama completely put me off wanting to play it, I canβt stand fandoms or anti-fandoms man π
When I get round to play TLOU2 I need to take a complete social blackout
