Would call this a "wolves in sheep's clothing" situation but honestly if anyone mistakes that dude for a sheep, that's on them. Dude is straight up howling at the moon with that one.
pretty sizable chunk of contemporary american christianity is devoted to wario jesus who came to start a fertility cult where the main perks are hating big cities, using slurs and performatively caring about girls' sports.
These guys probably think of themselves like David when they would be Judas. Once they figured out Jesus’s goals for the kingdom of heaven weren’t the same as theirs, they would betray him.
Having lived in the Bay Area for ten years now, it's impressive to me how many pastors come to cities to "love them" but seem to harbor a deep disdain for them. And this extends far beyond the ones that wear it on their sleeve as Chase does.
Having watched all four nights of the 2024 DNC, Harris-Walz felt more like the Christian / righteous path forward than any of the rubbish I heard from the (comparatively poorly attended) MAGA rallies.
I won’t argue that sometimes liberal preachers, who are well meaning often in my opinion, can sometimes make political statements without a lot of spiritual depth to them, but I think that poster has a bigger problem with the way of Jesus than he realizes!
