Still here but looking actively at public/civil sector options. Also more traditional project/program management gigs. Wonβt lie though, Iβm not having a lot of luck getting in the front door anywhere. Games experience doesnβt translate easily for HR, I expect.
I'm still here, but answering anyway. Regular software development seems a reasonable fallback for me, but I always wondered if I would like being a librarian or something π€
To be clear, not going anywhere right now. Just looking to the future, and I know I'm crossing well into the ageism void of the industry where it's only going to get harder
Community management at a SaaS company. The pay and benefits are great, but I'm struggling with a lack of interest in the product/software we're selling.
First did appearance management, which I adored and was VERY good at. That quite literally almost killed me, I discovered, so I moved onto business systems analysis and Iβve been doing that ever since. DAMN good at it, and I really enjoy it.

Now I really don't know. /: For a minute I thought about USPS but even that's gone all capitalism-bullshit-shaped at this point.
I *think* what I love doing is "spreading joy through creation & connection". I'm not sure what that list of jobs looks like.
I did community management & social media management for a few years before giving up on contract chasing for stability
i definitely feel under qualified for positions but find the general work ethic of those that come from startup/gaming to be way better
