Which version? The one with Jeff Goldblum or the one with Vincent Price? Personally, I much prefer the Vincent Price version even though it’s kind of cheesy.
My parents rented The Fly when I was three years old and fell asleep watching it while I was wide awake. I woke them up towards the end of the third act to watch it with me and to their horror, I was enraptured with what I saw on the screen. They were like welp, he's ruined.
Ah; fair enough. Still a wonderful film; both horrific and emotionally complex. The first David Cronenberg film I saw at the cinema, and still a favourite.
Haha, fair enough. I can't really be mad about that considering 'the worst Cronenberg film' is still pretty high praise
Out of curiosity, how would you rank his other films? I've seen Crimes of the Future (x2) Scanners, Videodrome, The Fly and eXistenZ - anything outside those that you'd recommend?
Also curious if you've seen his son's stuff and what you think of it if you have. Antiviral is maybe my favourite film of all time, but Possessor and Infinity Pool are both mixed bags imo
I should probably give it a rewatch, since I remember liking it and not really being able to put my finger on what wasn't clicking for me. Definitely agree that Mia Goth was fantastic in it, though!

Goldblum with an all-time performance, too.
I need to watch that again. Thanks for the reminder.
