I almost did that to a bag of pistachios that were on sale when I saw that they were an American product. They aren’t selling out even at that very low price.
I refused to buy a lemon at Zehrs because it was from the US. Same with spinach.
Found a bag of Canadian spinach & lemons from Peru at Sobeys. Bought those. I also flipped the bird to a Tesla nazi truck as it drove past me the other day. #resist
Thing is, besides the overall general boycott of American goods, now that the orange monster is deregulating the FDA rules, how do we even know we're getting edible food from the USA?
I'll pay a few extra pennies [opps, nickels, we don't have pennies] more than take the chance of tainted US food.
I did that this morning, lo!
Paid a little more for the organic Canadian ones instead.
I'm glad I'm not the only one wandering around the grocery store cursing at vegetables 😅
Ours taste better anyway, especially if you purchase them at a farmers' market. In Saskatchewan, the sweetest carrots are harvested in October, long after the first frost but before the ground freezes. Frost is necessary for good flavour.
