Yes. A pal of mine has a very stellar career in business and says she has zero interest in business grads, and would far rather take on graduates with experience of Humanities/stem/languages. She finds they are better able to think and analyse.

I've heard similar things from colleagues in health professions - that they value humanities grads b/c STEM grads are often better at memorizing than coping with new problems in creative ways.
Yes, I had an interesting conversation with the CEO of a small tech firm. He said it didn't matter what subject the graduates they recruited had studied: what mattered was critical thinking, people skills, accuracy, etc.
It would be so nice if the people who make funding decisions believed the mountain of evidence showing that really any degree is fine if it's the one you want to do.
Also, I remember so many sessions led by "consultants" who told us that the job market was changing so rapidly that it was impossible to predict what jobs our graduates would have. So why do you want us to emphasise vocational skills, I would ask. Answer came there none.

She's based in the States (but is a Brit and did her degree here), but I'll see if she would - not sure if she's on here. What would be best way to contact you?
