- Hercules was VERY far from straight in the stories

I can give you that Hercules' bisexuality was quite subtle, but the rest were there if you knew how to look.
What I meant is that your mind picks up things that you don't even realise about, especially as a kid, when you don't have words for it, but your brain recognises the pattern.

You finding attraction to them yourself is not the same as attraction being marketed to you in the way you want. Some of the mythological characters being largely queer in their other portrayals doesn’t change that Disney’s posture and purpose in all of these was to be hetero.

Goliath is just definitely hot. Brooklyn was hot when I was younger, but now it's very clear he is coded as a teen boy, so now that I'm an adult I'm not attracted to him anymore 😅

Goliaths growth was a lot more subtle. He learned to trust humans, fell in love, learned to see Brooklyn and the other younger Gargoyles as capable members of his clan instead of youngsters. He remained somewhat stoic and kind, but he grew quite a bit, too.

One of the things I think of with this is how much this stuff made me believe from a very early age that I HAD to be in a relationship. That if someone didn’t deeply romantically love me, that I was wrong somehow. Instead of that sometimes? You’re just single & that’s ok.
